[su_quote]Magnus on MVL: “I think it’s like a drug to him – to get bad positions and to hold them! I think he genuinely likes it. It makes him a bit of a psycho… I think he takes great pride in it!”[/su_quote]

Vachier Lagrave finished 2nd and collects $160,000 overall for his efforts

Levon Aronian finished fourth and collects $135,000 for his efforts

[su_quote]Levon Aronian: It was a terrible year, but being here is good. I hope next year will treat me better! [/su_quote]

Fabiano Caruana finished third and collects $145,000!

Corrected prizes*

Garry Kasparov

Congratulations to GM Hikaru, winner of the London Chess Classic & the 2018 Grand Chess Tour. Apparently the key to securing a victory is to move the king’s bishop 7 times! Pretty finish for the title.

[/su_quote]

[su_quote] Garry Kasparov

While Nakamura and Vachier-Lagrave battle for the trophy in London, a big announcement for chess and the Grand ChessTour! New 2019 events in Croatia, India, and Côte d’Ivoire. [/su_quote]

A brilliant performance by the 2018 British Knockout Champion, GMGawain Jones. #LondonChessClassic, winning the Final 17-3 over GM Luke McShane.
