The 2020 Chess.com Speed Chess Championship takes place 1st November to 13th December 2020. The 16 player final follows a long series of qualifying events which produced 8 qualifiers to go alongside the 8 invitees. There is a prize fund of $100,000 for this final phase Players: Hikaru Nakamura (World number 1 rated blitz player and winner of this event in 2018 and 2019) , Magnus Carlsen (World Champion and world number 2 blitz player – winner in 2017, the last time he played, when he defeated Nakamura), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Wesley So, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Vladislav Artemiev, Alireza Firouzja, Vladimir Fedoseev, Anish Giri, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Nodirbek Abdussatorov, Nihal Sarin, Parham Maghsoodloo, Haik Martirosyan and Jan Krzysztof Duda.
