A Stavangerben zajló Altibox Norway Chess szuperverseny negyedik fordulójának csúcsderbijén a világbajnok Magnus Carlsen nyert két évvel korábbi kihívója, az amerikai Fabiano Caruaná ellen.
A norvég világelső 2018-ban, a stavangeri tornán tudta utoljára legyőzni első számú riválisát, sorozatban 19 klasszikus játszmájuk végződött döntetlennel. A 17 esztendős Alireza Firouzja az első parti döntetlene után megnyerte az Armageddon játszmát Levon Aronjan ellen,
. A sereghajtók összecsapásán a hazai pályán játszó Aryan Tari legyőzte a lengyel Jan-Krzytof Dudát. A pihenőnapot követően szombaton az ötödik fordulóval folytaódik a verseby.

Carlsen on beating Caruana: “Yeah, it’s a very good day! Frankly speaking, I was thinking during the game that this was probably the best position I’d had against him since the first game of the match, so it was obviously very, very sweet to get that win”

<

Fabiano Caruana was the only player to win a mini-match against Magnus Carlsen in last year’s #NorwayChess, and the world numbers 1 & 2 meet again in 2 hours!

Kramnik: “Of course it’s a very typically Magnus position. He’s strong in most positions but this is something where he’s exceptionally strong and it’s not so easy to equalise”

Magnus Carlsen has real chances of beating Fabiano Caruana for the first time in 20 classical games!

Super computer Sesse now shows +6 for Carlsen. Can he break the 19-game drawing streak vs Caruana?

You don’t get to see this side of Magnus Carlsen during the official English-language broadcast so here he is having a little fun in the confession box during his game against Fabiano Caruana. https://tv2.no/
