St. Louis Rapid and Blitz: Vachier-Lagrave and Aronian share the lead
by ChessBase I like it! | 1 Comments I like it!
8/13/2019 – Maxime Vachier-Lagrave caught up with Levon Aronian in day three of the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament. The Frenchman lost to world champion Magnus Carlsen in round seven but went on to win his last two games to catch Aronian on 13/18 points. Sharing third place are compatriots Ding Liren and Yu Yangyi — the latter took down Leinier Dominguez and Fabiano Caruana in consecutive rounds on Monday. Eighteen rounds of blitz are yet to be played, as Carlsen’s perfect tournament run is in danger. Live Games, results and commentary. | Photo: Crystal Fuller / Grand Chess Tour
